May reminds us to check in, not just with a smile, but with intention.
I’ve seen firsthand how Tell Me Something Good can spark joy.
But when someone’s hurting, the most powerful question might be:
“No, really… how are you doing?”
Mental health pros say this follow-up could save a life.
So ask. Then listen.
Your care might be the light someone needs.
That’s Powerful Fun at work.
Showing Up For Mental Health Month One Moment at a Time
This month we didn’t just speak about mental health… we showed up for it.
From schools to ballparks, conference rooms to leadership summits, this month reminded me that fun isn’t frivolous. It’s foundational. It’s how we survive, connect, and grow. And when delivered with purpose, Powerful Fun, can save lives!
Here’s a look at how we honored that mission this May:
Upland Country Day School – Unionville PA
We began the month in conversation with students, parents, and teachers. It was a reminder that this message needs to start early. If we teach young people how to process emotions, choose joy, and build emotional resilience through fun, we can change their lives—and their futures. I believe the earlier we reach them, the better.
Mental Health Matters – Elkton, MD and Cumberland County, NJ
At these incredible community-wide mental health celebrations, I saw firsthand how powerful it is when an entire town commits to well-being. The energy was electric, and it affirmed my commitment to speak at many more of these celebrations each May. Our communities deserve to be places where people thrive and not just survive.
POMA25 – Poconos, PA
At the annual conference for the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association, I spoke to clinicians, administrators, and doctors about something they don’t always get trained in: the mind-body connection to joy. The medical field is rooted in science, but healing is deeply human and Powerful Fun gives professionals a tool to stay well while they care for others.
The Spartanburgers – Spartanburg, SC
We designed and then helped introduce “Sparkle the Carolina Parakeet,” a brand-new MiLB character—and this one was personal. Everything I’ve learned about happiness started with the Phillie Phanatic. That character, in so many ways, saved my life. And now, each time we build a new mascot, we aim to create something bigger than entertainment—we’re creating tools to make the world a better place. Sometimes, even to save lives.
The Michaels Organization’s High Achievers Summit
This was a full-day Happiness Training for emerging leaders. These professionals are being groomed for great responsibility, and we made sure they understand that leadership isn’t just about results. It’s about people. Taking care of your teams starts with taking care of yourself. That’s the future of enlightened leadership.
Givnish Funeral Homes – Coming June 4th
Though technically just beyond May, this keynote is part of our Mental Health Month journey. It fulfills a dream I’ve had for years—to serve those who serve others during their darkest days. Funeral professionals are often overlooked when we talk about wellness, but they need support too. We’re honored to bring Powerful Fun to this sacred and emotionally demanding space.
And finally… Italy
Sandy and I capped off the month by investing in Life Experience Points, with a trip of a lifetime through Italy. We are beyond grateful for the opportunity to explore, rest, reflect, and grow together. But here’s the truth: Life Experience Points don’t require a passport. They don’t even require a budget. All they really ask of us is to be present. And grateful. Every day.
This month was filled with meaning, connection, and real progress toward a happier world. But we’re just getting started. Thank you for being part of the journey and join us next May for an even bigger celebration!
Here’s to more Powerful Fun, more purpose, and more life-saving joy, together.🙏🏻💪🏻❤️
